COMMERCE AND PARTNERS WELCOME CAMBRIDGE FILTER TO GILBERT
December 1, 2003 (Phoenix, Arizona) – Cambridge
Filter Corp. has chosen Gilbert, AZ as home for its new
southwestern U.S. operations headquarters. At build-out, the
headquarters will total more than 131,000 square feet and generate as
many as 120 new jobs. The company will hire approximately 40 employees
during its first year of operation.
“Cambridge
will be very well served by our fast-growing, high-tech marketplace,”
said Greg Tilque, Director of Economic Development for the Town of
Gilbert, a community that for the last 13 years has been ranked by the U.S. Census Bureau as the fastest growing municipality of its size in the nation. “This company is internationally renowned for their great product quality and we,
along with our partners at the Arizona Department of Commerce and
Greater Phoenix Economic Council, are delighted to welcome them to
Gilbert.”
Working
first with the International Trade and Investment Division at the
Arizona Department of Commerce, Cambridge established a sales office
here in April 2002. “The company said our services made it easy for
them to make an investment decision in Arizona all the way from Japan,”
says Commerce Director Gilbert Jimenez. “They expect to hire more than
40 employees locally within the next two years and investment about $10
million.”
In
total, Cambridge will construct a 131,326-square-foot manufacturing and
office campus within the El Dorado Business Park, located south of
Guadalupe Road and east of Country Club Drive. Phase I of the
headquarters will total 48,000 square feet. It breaks ground in
December and is scheduled for completion during the third quarter of
2004. The development of Phase II will follow as the company expands its southwestern operations over the next several years.
The
main operation will pleat filter media, cut and press aluminum frames,
and make the final attachments to the assembly process, including the
final inspection process. The facility will also house Cambridge Filter
Corporation’s sales office.
